National Garden Clubs, Inc. (NGC), founded in 1929, is the largest volunteer gardening organization in the world. NGC promotes the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility and helps coordinate the interests and activities of state and local garden clubs in the U.S. and abroad.
Central Atlantic Region of State Garden Clubs, Inc. (CAR-SGC) supports the mission of National Garden Clubs, Inc. to provide education, scholarships, and Region networking opportunities for its members to promote the love of gardening, floral design, and civic and environmental responsibility. CAR-SGC is comprised of clubs in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and the National Capital Area.
Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, Inc. (FGCMD), founded in 1926, is comprised of approximately ninety-nine garden clubs divided into five districts, which are located throughout the state from the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay to the mountains of Western Maryland. In the early part of the last century, FGCMD was one of the first states to form a Federation as part of the garden club movement. In 1929, Maryland was one of sixteen charter states that organized into what is now the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

District II of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, Inc. is comprised of nineteen garden clubs, which are located in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties.
