Crofton Village Garden Club members Margo Antonelli, Nancy Percivall and Marcia Richard represented the garden club in the Crofton Cherry Blossom Festival that took place on Saturday, April 10th. Pink bags with stickers and an art project were handed out to members of the community.
Congratulations to Harriet Kiilehua and Shirley Levendoski who have dedicated many years of service to Crofton Village Garden Club. Your enthusiasm and commitment is an example for all CVGC members. Your example of unselfish, continued service is admirable. THANK YOU! A recounting of Harriet's and Shirley's CVGC involvement will be presented during the Greater Crofton Community Awards Celebration via Zoom, on Wednesday, February 3rd at 7:00 PM. The list of activities for these two ladies is extensive and impressive!
Pictured: Mai Ho, Rosa Johnson, Denise Frey, Lauren Toomey and Cathy Gallagher Crofton Village Garden Club held its second Garden Crawl in spite of the chilly temperature. Members spent approximately 20 minutes at each garden doing maintenance. They began at Crofton Library with the Blue Star Memorial Garden, the Native Garden and the Pollinator Garden and then traveled to Linthicum Walks.
Thank you to Nancy Percivall (Project Chair, Linthicum Walks) for organizing the event and to members Rosa Johnson, Denise Frey, Lauren Toomey, and Cathy Gallagher and to Mai Ho, a prospective member of the club. Marcia Richard (pictured right) held a Seed Sharing & Plant Cuttings event at her house. Members were invited to share seeds or plant cuttings, as well as their knowledge of the plants. Marcia shared Zinnea seeds that she collected from her plants, a first for her in collecting seeds from the flower heads. She also had Sun coleus cuttings. Members Nancy Percivall, Kathy Puhak, Lauren Toomey, Margo Antonelli, and Cathy Gallagher (not pictured) also participated in the event.
Crofton Village Garden Club Past Presidents Marcia Richard and Sally Moore and member Claudia West presented a floral design workshop and lecture on the difference between traditional and creative designs. During the workshop members had the opportunity to make their own design using their newly acquired skills.
