On Monday, November 3rd, the Garden Club gathered at the Village Green Memorial Garden to weed, cut back perennials, and tidy things up for the fall season. In attendance were Rosa Johnson, Yuki Adams, Nancy Percivall, Margo Antonelli, Laura Austin, Angela Wetzel, Peggy Smail, Lois Nichols, and Littany Hollerbach.
A huge thank-you to these wonderful ladies for coming out and helping make the day such a success! This morning, garden club members gathered at the Village Green Memorial Garden for a seasonal refresh. Led by Project Chair Littany Hollerbach, the team included Club President Margo Antonelli, Trish Lilek Demers, Laura Austin, Nancy Percivall, Pat Stevenson, and guest Yuki Adams.
Together, they spent time weeding, pruning perennials, and updating the concrete containers—replacing the fading fall/spring annuals with a fresh, vibrant mix. The planters now feature variegated fountain grass, sweet potato vine, calibrachoa, and icicle plant, adding color and texture that will carry the garden beautifully into the fall season. Spring has arrived, and the Village Green Memorial Garden is coming to life! The delightful Tête-à-Tête daffodils are in full bloom, tulips are beginning to push their way up through the soil, and the irises are starting to emerge, hinting at the colors to come. A heartfelt thank you to Trish Lilek Demers, who generously donated curly willow branches to enhance the garden’s pots. She even spray-painted some of the branches in a vibrant chartreuse, perfectly capturing the spirit of the season. It’s a beautiful reminder of how spring brings new energy and color to our surroundings. Crofton Village Garden Club members Trish Demers (not pictured), Margo Antonelli, and Project Co-Chairs Lynne Malley and Littany Hollerbach, recently planted Blue Flag Irises, Tete a Tete (miniature) daffodil bulbs, and red and pink Darwin Hybrid tulip bulbs in the Village Green Memorial Garden. Their hard work is sure to create a stunning display come spring!
This morning, Interim President Trish Demers, Laura Austin, Pat Stevenson, and Project Co-Chair Littany Hollerbach teamed up to work in the Village Green Memorial Garden. They removed weeds, leaves, and brown foliage from the evergreens, gave the sweet potato vines a trim, and replaced the petunias and purple fountain grass with:
