PROGRAM: Living the Life in the Country As the final membership meeting of the year, we gathered at member Sally Moore’s home, beginning with a brief business meeting to wrap up any remaining club matters before transitioning into a more relaxed and social event. Adding to the festive spirit, members donned their finest floral hats, turning the gathering into a cheerful celebration of creativity and garden-inspired flair. Prizes were awarded for the best hats, sparking laughter and friendly competition as members showed off their unique and imaginative designs. Following the meeting, attendees enjoyed a delightful potluck luncheon, where they sampled an array of homemade dishes contributed by fellow members. The shared meal fostered camaraderie, allowing members to unwind and appreciate the friendships they had cultivated throughout the year. A highlight of the event was a guided garden tour led by Sally, who welcomed everyone to explore her beautifully landscaped property. Her garden, thoughtfully designed with mature plantings and a stunning array of seasonal perennials, showcased a keen eye for detail and an appreciation for color and texture. Many of the plants had personal significance—several were propagated from cuttings generously shared by longtime member Glenna Kidd, adding a heartfelt layer of club history and continuity to the space.
As guests strolled through the garden, they were also charmed by Sally’s whimsical touches of frog-themed art tucked among the beds and borders, reflecting her love of frogs and adding a playful, personal flair. This special gathering at Sally’s home served as a fitting conclusion to a year of learning, growth, and shared passion for gardening, leaving members with fond memories and fresh inspiration for the seasons ahead.
