TLC Members Improve Tree Health at Crofton Community Library

As part of TLC's ongoing commitment to caring for our community's landscapes, members Nancy Percivall and Yuki Adams recently spent time at the Crofton Community Library tending to a tree located off Klocko Way. Their task was to remove suckers—the vigorous shoots that sprout from the base of a tree and compete with the main trunk for water and nutrients. While sucker removal may seem like a small maintenance job, it plays an important role in keeping trees healthy, encouraging strong growth, and improving their overall appearance. By clearing away these unwanted shoots, Nancy and Yuki helped the tree devote its energy to developing a healthy canopy while enhancing the beauty of the library grounds. Their volunteer efforts are another example of how TLC members work together to preserve and beautify the public spaces that everyone in our community enjoys.
