FEDERATED GARDEN CLUBS OF MARYLAND, INC.
Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, Inc. (FGCMD), founded in 1926, is comprised of 81 garden clubs with approximately 3,000 members organized into five districts that span the state — from the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay to the mountains of Western Maryland. In the early 20th century, Maryland was among the first states to form a federation as part of the growing garden club movement. DISTRICT II
District II of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, Inc. is comprised of 16 garden clubs across Southern Maryland, with approximately 800 members located in Anne Arundel, Calvert, Charles, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties. Each club shares a deep connection to the Chesapeake Bay, inspiring a collective commitment to environmental stewardship. A key focus is promoting Bay-Wise certified gardens by encouraging the use of native plants, improving water conservation, and managing runoff to protect the region’s natural resources.
