Project Chair Jane McClanahan oversees the installation of four Yoshimo cherry trees, marking the completion of a pledge Crofton Village Garden Club made to the Crofton Triangle community in 2014 to plant 50 new trees. The environmental impact, as well as the beautifying effect made this project most desirable for the club.

On May 19, 2014, Crofton Village Garden Club held a ceremonial tree planting to celebrate Crofton's 50th Anniversary. The club donated $2,000 to purchase and plant 17 trees along Crofton Parkway. Project Chair Jane McClanahan had hoped to purchase 50 trees, but a jump in tree price limited what the club could do in the short term. Funds for the project were raised from a holiday house tour, green sales, and May basket sales. The project is ongoing and when complete, 50 trees will beautify Crofton Parkway, replacing diseased trees or areas where there were no trees.
