Area garden clubs are invited to decorate the Hammond-Harwood House in Annapolis each year for the holidays. This year's theme is The Twelve Days of Christmas. CVGC members decorated the study chamber, whose last occupant was Hester Ann Harwood, with 11 Pipers Piping. Past President Pam Ildefonso designed and made each costume, and member JoAnn Cook painted the faces.
Led by Project Chair C.J. Salisbury, members hung fresh evergreen wreaths with festive bows on the lamp posts on the Village Green.
Thank you to the following members for helping and delivering wreaths to several area schools and the library: Laura Austin, Barbara Emden, Diane Gallow, Cindy Hansen, C.J. and Palmer Salisbury, and Diane Stovel. Crofton Village Garden Club member Nancy Percivall adorned the historic Kinder Farmhouse kitchen with the infamous white mice once again! Visitors are sent on a holiday scavenger hunt throughout the kitchen searching for mice doing various activities as they get ready for the holidays.
The Friends of Kinder Farm Park Historical Society invite you to step back in time and visit the Kinder Farmhouse Museum during the holidays. Docents will tell you about Henry and Hilda Kinder and their eight children who called the farmhouse their home. Open house dates are Saturday, December 2 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Saturday, December 9 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Admission to the farmhouse is free; however, park gate fees still apply. Led by Project Chair CJ Salisbury, Crofton Village Garden Club members decorate for the holidays a number of venues within the community.
