The Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland Annual Meeting was held yesterday at Turf Valley Resort and Hotel in Ellicott City. New board members were installed by NGC President-elect Mary Warshauer.
Two of the floral tributes are pictured above. The arrangement on the left with Anthuriums was done by Sylvia Deck (Crofton Greenery and Moonflower Garden Clubs) and the one with Calla Lilies on the right was done by Dessie Moxley (Howard County Garden Club).
The February 2021 issue of GARDENEWS showcases the FGCMD Slate of Officers for the 2021-2023 term. CVGC member Marcia Richard is featured on page 2. Marcia will be installed as Second Vice President at the FGCMD Annual Meeting at Turf Valley Resort and Hotel on March 23rd. District II's Anna O'Kelly (Crofton Greenery Garden Club), also featured on page 2, will be installed as President. Congratulations ladies!

NGC President-Elect Mary Warshauer will install District II's Anna O'Kelly (Crofton Greenery Garden Club) as State President for the 2021-2023 term and our very own Marcia Richard will be installed as Second Vice President. Participants may attend in person or opt to join virtually via Zoom. The Awards Presentation and new Officer Installation will take place in the morning, then lunch, followed by speaker Summer Rayne Oakes, presenting her program How to Make a Plant Love You.

Several CVGC members attended the FGCMD Annual Meeting and Standard Flower Show, Planting Maryland from the Mountains to the Ocean, at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City. CVGC President Glenna Kidd was presented the 2017 Evelyn M. Cotton Maryland Conservation Award on behalf of the club for the installation of a native plant border at the Crofton Community Library. Member Harriet Kiilehua was presented the 2017 Presidential Award for her contributions and many tasks performed to create a successful Deck the Halls with Holiday Magic fundraiser.
Members Sally Moore, Nancy Percivall and Beverly Frye did the staging for the flower show. Members Glenna Kidd, Bonnie Pavlak and Marcia Richard won blue ribbons for their horticulture entries.
