Crofton Village Garden Club members gathered at the Village Green Memorial Garden following our May meeting to dedicate the 50th Anniversary time capsule. CVGC President Cathy Gallagher led the dedication. A time capsule is something we collect now and leave for people in the future to discover and use. A time capsule is usually intended to give future generations a glimpse into who we were and what motivated us to act the way we did. A time capsule is our intentional witness of the future, not a legacy, but a witness. The "7th generation" principle taught by Native Americans says that in every decision, be it personal or governmental, we must consider how it will affect our descendants seven generations into the future. So that the pristine sky, field and mountains will still be here for them to enjoy. Being a witness to our belief in the future, we ask for guidance as we forge our path forward. Following a moment of silence for deceased members, members joined together to read aloud the following: Earth, Teach Me
The Seed Sowing Psalm
