POLLINATOR PATHWAY MARYLAND

PROGRAM: Pollinator Pathway Maryland

​The Pollinator Pathway is corridors of public and private properties that provide pesticide-free native plant habitat and nutrition for pollinators. Reconnecting the landscape by making properties stepping stones for the free flow of species across a healthy, native landscape. 

​Led by member Lauren Toomey with keynote speaker Sam Droege, Wildlife Biologist, USGS Patuxent Wildlife Refuge. Members and guests will view a PowerPoint presentation on the Pollinator Pathway, followed by a discussion with Louise Washer, Pollinator Pathway Northeast founder, on how to implement a successful pathway by reducing turf, planting native plants, and avoiding pesticides.

Anne Arundel County is the first county in Maryland to establish a pollinator pathway. The goal of Pollinator Pathway Maryland is to connect the pathway with Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Capital Trails Network within Prince George's and Montgomery County, Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Virginia.
