HAMMOND-HARWOOD HOUSECVGC members Debbie Nicholson, Tish Smith, Sue Hoge, Diane Harvey and Marie Bryer decorated for the holidays the upstairs study chamber at the Hammond-Harwood House in Annapolis. The theme this year was "At Home with the Harwoods – An 1835 Christmas". Members placed antique textile, including a quilt, rag doll, knitted Christmas stocking and girls muff around the room. Faux greens and red berries beautifully decorate the mantle. On the hearth are an antique copper coal shuttle filled with pine cones, faux table top trees with plaid bows, ice skates and a sled topped with a gorgeous basket arrangement of greens and berries created by Tish Smith. Tours will be given through December 31 during regular hours of the museum with museum admission. This special tour takes visitors back to the early 19th century when the Harwoods lived in the home. The tour will highlight Christmas customs and how each was observed during the holiday season.
