CROFTON CHERRY TREES

Crofton Village Garden Club held a ceremonial tree planting on May 19, 2014, to celebrate Crofton's 50th Anniversary. The club contributed $2,000 towards the purchase and planting of 17 trees along Crofton Parkway. Project Chair Jane McClanahan had initially hoped to plant 50 trees, but a rise in tree prices limited the club’s efforts at that time. The funds for this project were raised through events such as the holiday house tour, green sales, and May basket sales. The project remains ongoing, and once completed, it will enhance Crofton Parkway with 50 trees, replacing diseased trees and filling in areas where trees were previously absent.
