Crofton Village Garden Club members weed the Pollinator Garden located at Crofton Library. Chickweed, an aggressive garden weed capable of producing up to 15,000 seeds per plant, took over the center section of the garden choking out many of the pollinator plants. Carol Votteler, Project Chair, will work on a plan to restore that area of the garden. The Pollinator Garden not only encourages the population of pollinators, but it also serves as an educational component to demonstrate to community members the importance of the pollinators for our environment. Thank you to Margo Antonelli, Camille DeVito, Denise Frey, Beverly Frye, Cathy Gallagher (CVGC President), Glenna Kidd, Nancy Percivall, Don Pogue and Carol Votteler for helping with the garden.
