PROGRAM: Leaf Manipulation in Floral Design
Leaf manipulation is a unique art form in floral design, where leaves and stems are carefully cut, looped, and twisted to create intricate shapes that contribute to striking and sculptural arrangements. This technique often utilizes tough, bold, and long-lasting evergreen leaves, which hold up well and add a dramatic touch to the design. Anna O'Kelly, President of the Federated Garden Clubs of Maryland, will join us via Zoom to share her expertise on how to alter the form and appearance of leaves in their natural state. During her presentation, Anna will demonstrate various leaf manipulation techniques, using leaves such as aspidistra, sansevieria, and aralia. Her guidance will provide members with new creative possibilities for incorporating manipulated leaves into their own floral designs. Comments are closed.
